Ceiling beam grids, doorway cased openings, and box beams can all add interest to your home, whether it's a new build or you're remodeling. The warmth of timber adds a welcoming touch to any style of home. Here's a look at some of our work utilizing these features.

We used eastern white pine to create the ceiling beam grid and curved doorway cased opening in this custom home. To create the curve five timbers were cut and scarfed together. The custom opening leads from the foyer into the great room, and showcases the beautiful scenery outdoors.

Cased opening frames the transition onto the great room
We cut and installed Douglas fir cased opening and box beams in this home. Several fireplace mantels were cut to size and installed as well, complementing the timber work.
Box beams can be used where there isn't sufficient space or structure to carry the load of a solid beam. They are also used to cover exposed joists, pipes, or framing.

We used white oak beams here for the ceiling grid and doorways.

Reclaimed timbers frame this doorway that leads from the kitchen and dining area into the great room.

The homeowner here chose hand hewn antique beams to give their kitchen a rustic, old world look.

Ceiling beam grid
Working at Capital City Club in Atlanta, we upgraded their Brookhaven men's locker room with this Douglas fir ceiling beam grid. We have extensive experience in commercial projects, both on new builds and in revamping existing structures as was our task here.

White pine was used extensively in the interior of this custom home, Black Bear Lodge. This species of timber is desirable for its low shrinkage rate along with minimal cracking and twisting.
